The residential area, of client Gafoor, was just close to the National Highway of Thikkodi in Kerala.
This house was designed in the Kerala Modern Style with Minimal design elements. The wit of Kerala’s modern design history is very much about being aesthetically prudent and rich in the quality of material but deeply philosophical. Living sustainably and syncing the needs with the surrounding!
Though having irregular space dimensions and a somewhat acute angle area, initially it was a challenge to plan the design and to harness a modern, aesthetically looking home, which was achieved successfully by the team!
We planned to landscape the front yard with white sera stone since it allows additional depth to space and gives it exciting dynamics! As for the backyard, the tandoor stone when matched with Korean grass lawn is, without doubt, a soothing and rejuvenating experience!
As for the color schemes, a combination of greys and soft white exterior paint colors, makes it feel both sophisticated and comforting. Grey gives it a relaxed, yet classic feel! For the interiors, we added soft beige pastel to create an inviting feel that is all about warmth!
Having an overall of 5.4×3.3m size rooms, separated with dressing area, washrooms, and 4 bedrooms, each room were aesthetically and minimalistic designed with special materials such as; Superior quality Italian Marbles that add sophistication and splendor to the living space, Teak Wood that brings a sense of warmth, is much reliable and adds distinctiveness! Including natural Cladding stones, veneer creates a smooth and stylish look to either contemporary or traditional interiors. Acrylic sheets were used to make the space more innovative and attractive!
The warm summer days can still bring chilly winter nights. In our architectural designs for the residence, including a patio design in the backyard was to bring out ways to entertain or sit out cozily for cooler evenings! Customizing the corners with clear view windows makes it art-conscious when considered a ‘sacred space’, especially when a beautiful view is involved! The Double height skylight gives a feel of a wide area to just spend a stargazing night or have ample natural light source! Adding thoughtfully designed Pergolas incorporates beauty and comfort to space!
