Located at Cheruvanchery, the Salafi Masjid project, accomplished through a period of 12 months, encompasses both secular and religious styles from Islamic architectural styles & mixture of Turkish tradition and influences!
Built in a high altitude land, with an area spread of about 1214.30349sqft, the view it brings is that of a pleasant yet gigantic feel!
Owing to the location and the altitude it was situated in we did face some challenges, yet that was meticulously handled by the team, but, even more challenging was the task of designing it according to the client’s requirement; to design a Turkish Islamic architecture style!
The mosque is approached through a large pillar structure, which brings in a gesture of warm welcoming. The aligned Steps running throughout the veranda at the outer precinct wall focus the eye towards the cylindrical columns and the white marble flooring brings in a harmonious blend in both the building style and landscape design!
The architectural speciality of this project are the hexagonal shaped dome, the ethereal dome seems weightless as it floats above the prayer hall! As one move towards the main prayer hall, one can notice the complexly designed cnc carvings & the texture paints. This newest design trend, with intricate patterns, gives the space an instant & artistic facelift!
As an encompassed special material, the golden texture paint with patterns, redefines the aesthetics, inspiring a fuller interior space! Another speciality of the classic material used in the interior and the exterior is the American Walnut veneer that is a quintessential native hardwood with its hallmark of quality & tradition, adds a rustic feel!
The unified, open plan of the mosque is matched by the artful stacking of volumes on the exterior with the ACP wooden texture finish projections at the exterior was used to mimic the look and feel of real wood, giving aesthetics that significant blend with the nature around!
A colour palette of dark reddish brown with a mix of beige for the exteriors evoke a picture of elegance and style that catches the attention!
Speaking of the overview of this project, in spite of the challenges faced due to the high altitude location and working on the client’s requirement of a mixed style of Turkish Islamic architecture, this artistic afterthought was accomplished by the team to present an elegant, architectural case vital to an overall showcasing of divinity!
